Hello World
WE MOVED! We've been here for 20 days and it's just starting to feel like home. We've had several house-guests, but not the kind I would have hoped for. Mice, spiders, snakes, OH MY! We've had a few of the cuter sort: deer, turtles, turkeys. Oh, Country Livin'!
I'm still surrounded in boxes. There is so much to do in the house. It's a lot of work and a lot of fun. Earl was called as the Elder's Quorum President two weeks ago so his new schedule has put quite the damper on my honey-do list. I'm learning that things don't always have to be a "certain way." At least not "right away." :)
Annabelle started the 2nd grade on August 4th. (I know, early, right?) She is such a cutie. Here's her on the first day of school.
When we moved we ended up in the new school and I absolutely love it.
Ok, are you sitting down? I mean it, SIT DOWN. Emily had her assessment with her Kindergarten teacher last week and SHE SPOKE TO HER TEACHER! Did you hear me? Did you understand? EMILY SPOKE TO HER TEACHER!! She actually spoke to another human being. And not only did she speak, she actually answered the teacher's questions and did quite well on her assessment. I was sitting out in the hall with Molly for about 30 mins. I really didn't know what was going on in the room. I figured Emily was sitting there mute as she normally is when someone talks to her. (Now, I'll have you know that Emily has been telling us for months now that she was going to talk once she was a big girl in Kindergarten, but I honestly didn't believe her). The teacher came out to tell me she was done and started to go over Emily answers to the test. The teacher started off by saying, "She was a little shy and it took me a while to get her to talk to me..." I stopped her and said, "She talked to you?" and the teacher replied, "yes." I was in complete shock. I went through a list of all the people Emily has never spoken to, including Sunday School teachers and Preschool teachers and the teacher said she felt very special. I told her, "YOU SHOULD!" She continued in going over Emily results. At one point, she said, "She counted to 13." To which I responded, "OUT LOUD?" I was seriously in tears over this.
Later when I talked to Emily about how she had been telling us all along that she was going to talk in Kindergarten, she said, "Weally, I was ser-we-us." I love her. Yesterday was her first day of school.
These two were so stinkin' cute getting on the big school bus.
So, things are crazy around here, but that's ok. Home Depot is our favorite place to frequent. Our house will be super cute--someday. The critters have all seemed to find a new home, for which I am very grateful. The house still smells like doggie pee in some places but we are slowing working through that. I've lost 45 lbs. to date. AMAZING! I never thought I'd stick with it this long. I feel great. I currently have 12 open EmmyCake orders and so many other ideas I haven't gotten around too. Emily's birthday party is next week and you all know how I get when there's a party to throw! Maybe you should call Earl to check on him in a few days? :)
I hope you are all well. I haven't checked any of your blogs in weeks and I'm sorry for that. Alanna: WELCOME BACK! I got your message. I'm LAME and I haven't called you back. We'll talk soon.
Oh, one last random thing. Our new house has a jetted bathtub. You know what that spells? F.U.N.
