I SPY with my October eye...

(subtitled: So Alanna doesn't have to call me.)

I SPY with my October eye...

An Emmy who learned to ride without training wheels

An adorable Kindergartener having a blast on her first field trip

I SPY with my October eye...

A family outing to Jackson's Orchard

I SPY with my October eye...

A couple of girls who shot their first gun EEK!

I SPY with my October eye...

A Patchwork WITCH

A Little LADYBUG

The world's cutest OWL

Serious applause is welcomed and encouraged. I'm pretty proud of this one. Molly LOVED it!

And a MOM who totally pulled together FOUR homemade costumes this year!
(Earl was suppose to have one too, but let's just celebrate my accomplishments, please.)

I did a little EmmyCake representing this year. There were several men and boys who told me that I looked "yummy." My response: "that's fine, as long as, you don't start nibbling me!"

I SPY with my October eye...

A visit from my college friend/neighbor/bridesmaid/girl who had a crush on my husband

I SPY with my October eye...

A little Molly who got herself (I'm not taking full blame here) locked in the car for 1.5 hours.

The abridged version of tragic story story involves a little Molly taking the keys to put them in the ignition (ever so "helpful," as usual) and locking the doors in the process. A mom closing the back door and then realizing that the keys, her cell phone and her baby are now locked in the car. This was followed by a run to the neighbor's house, a call to 9-1-1 in which this frantic mom was put on hold FOUR times, and the long-awaited arrival of the most unhelpful policeman to walk to earth. Then began the useless policeman ever-so-politely refusing to get into the car because "he could die if he tried," tears from the little Molly as well as the mom, pleading from the mom to the retarded, yet polite, policeman to try something or to let her, more polite refusal from the policeman and several calls to tow-truck drivers. After all was said and done, this little molly spent 1.5 hours strapped in her car seat and mom spent $40 to get her out and a giant ice-cream sand which used as a bribe to get the poor child back into her seat.

Celebrating 50

Well, obviously, I am NOT celebrating 50 years of life--though I am getting closer to that birthday than I feel comfortable with.

Today I am celebrating 50 lbs of weight lost!

It has been a crazy, amazing process that I never thought would take me to this point. I honestly never dreamed that I would be able to stick with it this long--that I would actually be this successful.

So, what does 50 lbs look like, you ask?

Well, 50 lbs of sugar looks like this:

I think it is AMAZING to look at it in this perspective. I was carrying around 10 bags of sugar!

50 lbs of fertilzer looks like this:

Would you want to lug that around EVERY day?? Yeah, me neither!

50 lbs of child looks like this:

Seriously, who wants to carry that around??

So, what does 50 lbs of weight look like? Well, I will show you.

This is what me 50 lbs ago looks like:

This is a picture taken of me with my Sunbeam class last year. I know it is kind of a random picture to use, but when I saw it and realized that my little class would have this picture and that this is how they would always remember me I realized that I wanted to make some changes in my life.

This is what me minus 50 lbs looks like:

You are welcomed to laugh at my pose. {HAHA} I decided to embrace my change and pose like I was in a weight-loss ad. Annabelle actually took this picture for me. I was too embrassed to do it with any other adults around. Oooh, I should have gotten one of me standing in my old pair of pants! That would be a sight! Maybe next time. ;)

So, there there you have it, folks. The me before and the me now. I am not going to say "after", because to me that implies that I am done and I so hope that this isn't it.

Something Spooky This Way Comes...

A SHAMELESS PLUG

I joined forces with my good friend, Amanda, to produce a Halloween line for EmmyCake that I am super proud of. Take a look at these stinkin' cute Trick or Treat bags (who am I kidding, I'm pretty sure I am going to be carrying one around for the next few weeks as a tote!)

MEET WINNIE

Winnie is a sassy little sweetie who could charm the treats from even the stingiest of ghouls. Be careful, she doesn't always get her way by "playing nice;" this little witch has got a few spells up her sleeve.

MEET HORACE

Horace is quite the mischievous monster. This little rascal is usually up to no good. With him on your side you are sure to have more tricks than treats!

MEET WENDALL

Wendall is the friendliest little spider you'd ever meet. There is nothing creepy about this eight-legged creature. You would never scream if this little guy crossed your path. He'd hardly hurt a fly. But, hey, a spider's got to eat!

MEET GRETA

Greta is the smallest, meekest ghost you'll ever meet. She has a hard time spooking anyone because she is just too cute. You have to listen closely to even hear her say, boo!

MEET JUST JACK

No Jack-o-lanterns here, it's Just Jack. Just Jack is a very content pumpkin--not a worry in the world. He's just accepted his lot in life and knows that it's just a matter a time before some big kid comes along and smashes his face right in!

MEET EDDIE

Eddie is a sly little bat. He's quite the charmer and many have fallen victim to his cunning ways.

Bags are made with stiff Sturdy FELT which means they are reusable. They have wooden handles for durability and an expandable opening for easy access to your Halloween loot.

I hope you will pass this important info on to your friends! ;)

The View From Two

Today's exhibit brought to you by our very own budding artist, Molly. Molly has a unique style and creativity which we believe comes from being only 3 ft tall. She receives alot of her inspiration from the thrill of using electronics when no one over 5ft tall is paying attention.
